Infrared Coagulation of Hemorrhoids

Infrared Coagulation of Hemorrhoids (also known as IRC) is a quick, easy, and safe procedure to treat grades I, II, and some III small or medium-sized internal hemorrhoids. During the procedure, a probe is placed above the hemorrhoid and bursts of light are applied, which causes coagulation of the vessels and eventual shrinkage of the hemorrhoids. Most patients experience relief of symptoms; however, repeat treatments may be necessary for long-lasting symptom relief.  Most patients are able to return to their normal routine the same day.

Dr. Gregory Bernstein is currently treating patients with IRC at the Fremont location. Call our office 206-838-1777 if you would like to schedule an appointment to talk to a provider about your options for treating hemorrhoids.
